Sweet summertime! We don’t know about you, but we’re ready to get out there for some fun in the sun. Whether you’re looking to get outdoors or to beat the heat altogether, add these 20 fun things to your ATL summer bucket list!

1. Andy Warhol Prints Exhibit

June 3 through Sept. 3Modern art lovers won’t want to miss this cool exhibit of more than 250 Andy Warhol prints and memorabilia at The High.

2. Atlanta Cycling Festival

June 10 through 17Bike enthusiasts of all ages will want to join in on this week of fun. The festival will include bike classes, rides, parties and more.

3. Blue Man Group Making Waves Exhibit

June 10 through Sept. 4The entire family will enjoy this hands-on exhibit presented at Children’s Museum of Atlanta. Experience a multi-sensory exploration of sound, from sand drums to PVC pipes. The whole experience culminates in the surround-sound theater for a screening of the Blue Man Group performing and utilizing the elements of the exhibit.

4. Atlanta Streets Alive: Westside

June 11The streets of Atlanta will spring to life on Sunday, June 11 as a 3.8-mile stretch of street from Downtown to Underwood Hills is opened to people on foot and bike, and closed to motorized traffic. Bike parade at 4 p.m.

5. Mammoths and Mastodons Opening Day

June 17Celebrate the opening of Fernbank’s newest exhibit at the opening celebration. The exhibit will be shown in conjunction with the giant screen feature, “Titans of the Ice Age.”

6. Juneteenth Atlanta Parade and Music Festival 2017

June 16 through 18Juneteenth celebrates the abolishment of slavery. The 2017 event is going all out to promote family unity, community unity, children’s activities, genealogy research, black-owned-businesses, speakers, the arts and much more.

7. Juneteenth at Oakland Cemetery

June 17Juneteenth is a nationally recognized commemorative day celebrating the abolishment of slavery in the Confederate South at the end of the Civil War. In commemoration, Historic Oakland Foundation offers free guided tours of the African-American Grounds, a kid’s cultural scavenger hunt, burial records research and much more.

8. Atlanta Summer Beer Fest

June 17Nothing quenches a hot Atlanta day like a nice cold brew. Head out to Historic Fourth Ward for the Atlanta Summer Beer Fest and have access to more than 200 beers, featuring many Atlanta favorites. Souvenir cup, samples and entertainment all are included, but bring money for the plentiful food trucks. Don’t forget your designated driver.

9. Birthday Bash ATL Block Party

June 17Kick off Birthday Bash with the free block party at Centennial Olympic Park at 12 p.m. This event, hosted by Hot 107.9 air personalities, will have vendors, interactive displays, vehicles and more.

10. Cinderella Della Circus

June 20 through July 23With high-flying thrills, Cinderella Della Circus brings puppetry and the circus together with fairy tale magic at the Center for Puppetry Arts.

11. 6th Annual Superhero Coasterthon

June 30 Crazy for coasters? Check out the 6th Annual Coasterthon at Six Flags Over Georgia. Raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta while competing to be the 2017 Coaster Superhero.

12. Christmas in July at LEGOLAND Discovery Center

July 1 through 31Ho Ho Ho! Invite kids to the get in the holiday spirit a bit early this year. Bring a new unwrapped toy to LEGOLAND Discovery Center and exchange it for a Kids Go Free voucher with a paid adult ticket. The event benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and makes your heart feel good.

13. AJC Peachtree Road Race

July 4The world’s largest 10K happens right here in Atlanta. This epic race will be extra exciting this year as it includes the USA Track & Field 10K Championships. Whether you walk, jog, run or just watch the race you won’t want to miss out on this annual tradition. The bands and entertainment along the course and post-race party in Piedmont Park are guaranteed to create an experience you’ll never forget.

14. Mall of Georgia’s 15th Annual Star Spangled Fourth

July 4All Star Family fun starts at 5 p.m. with rides, inflatables, live music, concessions and more. Check out a special Movie Under the Stars presentation of “The Batman Movie” and then stay for the largest fireworks display in Gwinnett County.

15. Red, White & Brew

July 4Get a sitter and head out for an early 4th of July celebration at the Red, White & Brew event at Georgia Aquarium.

Enjoy a fun-filled evening of beer tasting, BBQ and live entertainment all while viewing the aquarium’s 500-plus aquatic species.

16. Atlanta Field Day

July 15Remember field day in school? Tug of war, relay races and obstacle courses? Atlanta Field Day is a fun reboot for adults. Gather your team and head on out to Historic Fourth Ward Park for these events plus fun surprises. Bond and laugh while participating in something healthy.

17. 7th Annual Atlanta Ice Cream Festival

July 22I scream, you scream, we all love ice cream. You won’t want to miss this summer favorite at Piedmont Park. Expect a 5K walk, vendors, entertainment, wellness engagement activities and plenty of ice cream.

18. Sips Under the Sea Glow Party

Aug. 4Glow Crazy in Neon or White as you sip signature cocktails and light up the night. Look for entertainment, cocktails, small plates and plenty of fun without the kids, after hours at the Georgia Aquarium. It’s perfect date night fun.

19. Water Day at Chattahoochee Nature Center

Aug. 6Come August you’re going to be looking to beat that heat. Grab your sunscreen and your swimsuit because you’re going to get wet at CNC’s Water Day. There will be fun water activities, crafts, bubbles, story time, raffle and more.

20. Piedmont Park Arts Festival

Aug. 19 and 20The Piedmont Park Arts Festival is a feast for the senses with more than 250 artists sharing their art, artist demonstrations, live entertainment, street market, festival food, games and so much more. Come celebrate the visual arts and support the arts.
